Chasing the Moon with the Andover Astronomical Society

In support of the 9th National Astronomy Week, Andover Astronomical Society will be hosting an evening of lunar activities on 6th February, including the following (more details to follow):
- Stargazing using the society’s and members’ telescopes to look at the night sky (subject to the weather!)
- Short talks from members focusing on the moon, including: its own history from its beginnings and looking into its future; its influence on our history, including myths, legends and religious influences; as well as how the moon “works”.
- Displays and videos focusing on the moon.

The 9th National Astronomy Week 2025 runs from 1-9 February and is supported by the Royal Astronomical Society, British Astronomical Association, Federation of Astronomical Societies, and Society for Popular Astronomy.
